FEATURE — Southern Utah’s live music scene is flourishing and the Canyon Media crew is back to highlighting local musicians. So gather around for another session of “Paper Jams.”

Coming to you from Cloud 9 Studios at Canyon Media, this month’s edition features Sethdaniel, an indie singer-songwriter known on social media as Slackwater Social.

Watch (and hear) Sethdaniel perform live from Cloud 9 Studios at Canyon Media in the media player above.

Slackwater Social creates the same vibes as you might imagine from the name, smooth vocals complimented by jazz chords that set a groovy tone for any gathering.

Behind the mic and guitar is Sethdaniel, a budding musician based in Southern Utah. Sethdaniel writes and performs his own songs along with covers that feel equally original. Like a good cup of coffee, these tunes are hard to put down!

Sethdaniel recently visited Cloud 9 Studios to perform “To the Moon,” an original song he wrote for his wife. He also played another original, “Sweeter With You.”

Sethdaniel started playing guitar at the age of 12 and has been developing his singing, songwriting and live performance skills ever since.

“I played the trumpet but that was much too loud, so I switched to the guitar and just played in my room really quietly,” he said. “But I’m glad I did because over the last 18 years, I’ve been able to write a lot of music and share it with other people.”
