July 31, 2024-April 3, 2024

Kenneth Marcus Lovett was born in Clapham Junction, an area of London, England on July 31, 1928. He lived in Ashford, Middlesex, until the age of 11 when the family moved to Englefield Green, a village near to Windsor Castle. Here he pursued the entrepreneurial spirit of the war effort by keeping chickens, rearing goats and growing vegetables to sustain the family, selling the surplus to friends and neighbors. He volunteered for fire watching at his school, extinguishing phosphorus bombs on the roof which he considered fun rather than dangerous. In May 1945 he joined the celebrations for VE Day, riding around London on the roof of a truck.

At the age of 18, he was drafted into the British Army and served in Malaya where he saw action following China’s invasion of the country. After demobilization, he returned home and joined the Eastern Bank in London.

He was posted abroad and worked in Singapore, Bahrain, Iraq, India and Pakistan where he met his first wife, Gloria.

They lived in England until emigrating to the United States with their family in 1959. In Los Angeles, Ken initially worked for Packaging Corps, then joined Wynn Oil, in 1966 as Plant Manager in Azusa. He subsequently became vice president of the company, responsible for manufacturing worldwide. He traveled extensively to Europe, South Africa and Mexico. In 1976, he moved to Toronto, Canada, as president of Wynn International. Following his retirement from the company, he took stockbroker exams and pursued a second career until retiring to St George, Utah, in 1988.

Golf became his passion in retirement and he won several championships including the Club Championship at Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming, in 1994. He attended the Open three times and achieved his lifelong ambition of playing Pebble Beach at the age of 80. He played bridge and cribbage regularly and continued to travel until his 96th year.

In 2000 he met his second wife Judy. They married in 2005 and enjoyed 24 joyous years together.

His passing was gentle and peaceful. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ken is predeceased by his first wife Gloria and his three siblings John, Anne and Mark. He is survived by his wife  Judy, his daughters Veronica, Sandra and Deborah, his son Keith, stepsons Richard and Jonathan, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
