ST. GEORGE — A woman was transported to the hospital after crashing into an Iron County yard around midnight and was found found in her car Sunday morning.

The woman reportedly ran a stop sign at Iron Springs Road and state Route 56 and crashed into a yard at 351 N. 5300 W. She told responders she was sick and heading to the hospital at the time and “doesn’t remember anything after leaving her home,” Iron County Sheriff’s Lt. David Mitchell said.

The driver was unsure where she was and had lost her phone, so she slept in her car, Mitchell told Cedar City News. The property owner found her at approximately 8:30 a.m. She was transported to Cedar City Hospital with a potentially broken ankle and back pain.

The Utah Highway Patrol, Cedar City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the call.

This report is based on statements from first responders and law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings.
