Justen Alan Stock, 43, was booked into Iron County Jail on suspicion of DUI (first offense within 10 years), a class B misdemeanor, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, a class C misdemeanor, and failure to operate in a single lane of travel, an infraction.

According to the probable cause statement filed in support of Stock’s arrest, at approximately 7:45 p.m. Sunday, an Iron County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene of a reported single-vehicle rollover near the intersection of 800 South and 4575 West.

Iron County Sheriff’s Office later described the vehicle as a white Chevrolet pickup with an adult male driver as its only occupant.

“I made contact with the driver, identified as Justen Stock, who was being seen by medical personnel in the back of the ambulance,” the arresting deputy wrote in the affidavit. “I immediately observed Stock to have bloodshot eyes and the odor of an alcoholic substance emitting from his person.”

The affidavit further states that after being cleared by medical personnel and being read his Miranda rights, the driver agreed to answer questions about the incident.

“Stock admitted to having been drinking before driving the truck and that there were open containers of alcohol in the vehicle,” the affidavit said.

The deputy then administered multiple field sobriety tests, which Stock allegedly failed to pass.

A breathalyzer test was also given, which reportedly indicated a blood alcohol level of 0.184, which is more than three times Utah’s legal limit of 0.05.

This report is based on statements from court documents and law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
