Aug. 25, 1971-May 2, 2024

Calvin Leroy Fox, age 52, passed away from this mortal experience on May 2, 2024. He was born Aug. 25, 1971, in Ogden, Utah, to Myron Leroy Fox, Jr. and Ruelene Barlow Fox. He served in the Honolulu Hawaii Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Calvin also served for several years in the Air Force Reserves. He married Debbie Harmon on June 18, 1994, in the St. George Utah Temple.

Calvin’s family moved from Ogden to St. George, Utah, when he was 11 years old. He loved and cherished the Southern Utah area and heritage and adopted it as his own. Calvin was a graduate of Pine View High School and attended Dixie State College. Calvin met Debbie when a mutual friend invited Debbie into their gaming group. After some persuading, Calvin got a date with Debbie. They quickly fell in love and soon were engaged to be married. Calvin and Debbie were great parents and took the time to explain in depth the topics of inquiry from their children. They taught faith, love and self-respect in their home. They also knew how to have fun times as a family despite setbacks and trials.

A patriotic American, Calvin was active as the commander of American Legion Post 912 and enjoyed his associations with fellow legionnaires. He was well known for his knowledge, facts and wisdom. He was an avid reader throughout his life and loved to apply that to his storytelling in role-playing games with friends and family. He was unafraid to express his thoughts and opinions, but he was always loving, generous and kind. He was always willing to talk on any occasion. He would also hear you out and offer sympathy and love for your sorrows along with words of encouragement and strength.

Calvin is survived by his children Fion, Gawain, Hyrum, Caitlin and Dymphna, all of Washington City; his siblings Bryce (Julia) Fox, of Layton, Allen Fox, of Herriman, Anna (Matt) Horne, of South Weber, Darrell (Melissa) Fox, of Hurricane, Brenda (Josh) Densley, of Ivins, and Ed (Riley) Fox, of Washington City, Utah. Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Debbie and his parents, M. Leroy and Ruelene.

The receiving line will be Friday, May 10, from 10:30-10:55 a.m., and the funeral service at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 82 N Main St, Washington, Utah. Click here to livestream the funeral.
